Betsy Crouch was born in Chicago, IL, but experienced most of her youth in Pittsburgh, a funky town she mostly identifies with (Go Steelers!). She studied biochemistry at DePauw University and then furthered her expertise in biomedical science with two post-baccalaurate years at the National Institutes in Health. Currently, Betsy is a student in the joint MD/PhD program at Columbia University. This year begins her third studying neural stem cells in the lab. She is looking forward to pondering and deconstructing the intersections of faith and science this year in Gotham. To relax in the city, Betsy enjoys running, tennis, and yoga. She’s also a general lover of experiencing NYC’s fast-paced and abundant cultural life, and can be found at readings, sports games, concerts, and art exhibits.
