| Emily, a native of Maryland, began studying ballet at the age of 10. After continuing her education at S.M.U., she went on to dance
professionally in Austin, TX and Washington D.C. before moving to
NYC to pursue a freelance career. Since coming to New York,
Emily has been blessed with many performance opportunities, as well as with a wonderful husband to share her life with!
Through Gotham she is pursuing a deepening of her faith that will impact
both her life, family and her community. |
| Kenyon was raised in Orlando, FL and moved to NYC in 2006. He has performed widely as a singer and actor, and received a BFA from SMU. In a recent game of "2 truths and a lie", Kenyon claimed he was chased by an elephant in Africa, married to a ballet dancer, and was a model. He lied about being a model. As an advocate for cultural renewal through the arts, Kenyon has served with Love146, Open End Theater, The Space (CT), Hall Neighborhood House, and NFAA. He currently works for the CFW |
| Originally hailing from Ohio and West Virginia, Jason moved to New York in Summer 2008 after attending undergrad and law school at the University of Virginia. Divine intervention inspired Jason to leave the legal world, however, and he currently works as a consultant at McKinsey & Company. Jason discovered Redeemer many years ago and has been attending whenever in New York. He loves people and the vibrancy of cities, and looks forward to developing a deepened engagement with the city through Gotham. |
| Lisa was born and raised in Oklahoma City, but quickly felt at home in NYC upon her arrival as a travel nurse in November of 2005. Lisa feels being a pediatric nurse is a great honor and privilege. She currently works per diem at Mt. Sinai and Montefiore Children’s hospital. She deeply enjoys the gift of community and teaching she’s found at Redeemer. Lisa enjoys food(eating /cooking), sports (playing /watching), and theatre. Lisa is extremely excited to be a part of the Gotham Fellowship! |
| Chelsea Chen is a concert organist and composer. Originally from San Diego, she has lived on the East Coast since 2001, having studied at both Juilliard and Yale. Chelsea spent a year composing and performing in Taiwan, and is now Artist-in-Residence at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in Morningside Heights. Along with music, she enjoys tennis, running, and cooking meals for friends. |
| Formally, he's a Rubik's Cube Champion (can juggle 3 at once), Master Guitarist (riff to "Stairway to Heaven" peer-reviewed as "recognizable"), and Commercial Artist (Post-It Note Stick-Figure Flip-Book series sold recently for a co-worker's stapler). He attends The Village Church and enjoys not blogging about things, like exploring NY on his motorcycle. But in his free time, he works on policy for the City of New York -- a major love interest of his. |
| Fascinated by big cities, Kerri moved from Los Angeles to New York City in 2007. Her interest in how the public and private sectors work together stems from her previous role coordinating social integration programs for people with disabilities and her current position at a public relations firm. Always up for exploring, she enjoys discovering little known places and learning about other cultures. Running, kickboxing, reading and roaming the streets of NYC are favorite weekend rituals. |
| Lauren Hines is an actress and founding member of the theater company At Play Productions. Originally from Kentucky, Lauren is a graduate of New York University\'s Tisch School of the Arts and has worked with the Atlantic Theater, Public Theater, and Old Vic. She is a member of Redeemer Presbyterian Church and is marrying Suneel Gill in October. |
| Kim moved to New York in 2006 from Indiana, a move that she likens to moving to another planet. She has been doing family research at Columbia University since then, but has recently begun a faculty position in Psychology at Marymount Manhattan College. When not being a wonk, she enjoys spending quality time with her beloved cat, Marmelade, hosting tea parties, tending her Harlem garden, and running in Central Park. She fully believes that marathoning is a metaphor for life. |
| Originally from Virginia, Heather moved to New York in 2004. She has been having a love affair with the city ever since-delighting in all of the great food, art, fashion and cramped spaces it has to offer. She works in account management at a global advertising agency. She enjoys running, reading, watching college football and eating lazy brunches with friends. Heather feels blessed to have found a church home at Redeemer and is excited to grow in her relationship with Christ through Gotham. |
| Taena grew up in the Seattle area and moved to NY in 2003, after graduating from UNC - Chapel Hill. She works in the finance industry, most recently at a multi-strategy hedge fund. Taena enjoys pursuing photography, learning French, checking out new restaurants as well as hosting dinner parties, and watching Carolina basketball. She is looking forward to the Gotham Fellowship and the opportunity to develop a Christian worldview and build a community with other fun-loving Gothamites. |
| Molly has a BFA in dance from Fordham University/Alvin Ailey. Her passion is dance and her means to an end is nannying. When she's not rehearsing, taking class, or auditioning as a modern dancer, she's hanging out with a kiddo or watching Netflix with her fellow starving artist and Gotham alumni roommate, Lori McNally. Molly loves music, art, food, and sunshine, and is working on her love of Jesus (this is where Gotham comes in). Her super powers include brutal honesty and thighs of justice. |
| Alison works in international marketing and business development for an educational publisher. After 10 years in China, followed by stopovers in New Mexico and Boston, she landed in New York in 2007. Alison’s looking forward to the Gotham Fellowship readings and developing a greater vision for serving the city. She is on a continual quest to find the best Chinese cold noodles in New York. |
| Cindy and her husband, Matt, moved to NYC from Colorado in 2007, and they celebrated their arrival by joining a fellowship group through Redeemer and running the NYC marathon. Although her career as a corporate attorney keeps her busy, in her spare time, she is a fitness enthusiast who particularly enjoys hiking, yoga, and dancing. Cindy also welcomes opportunities to practice speaking Mandarin, Chinese. She is thrilled for the opportunity to deepen her faith within the Gotham community. |
| Originally from San Diego, Jeana moved to New York in 2005 seeking four seasons and an opportunity to teach secondary science in Harlem through Teach For America. She currently serves the national organization as the Director of the School Leadership Initiative, managing partnerships and fostering leadership to increase the number of TFA alumni who are principals across the country. Jeana gets excited about Trojan football, photography, baking, snowboarding and training for the NY marathon. |
| Andrew came to NYC in 2005 to study public health. Before grad school, Andrew worked in Washington DC as an emergency planner – a job that combines one of the most exciting words in the English language to one of the most boring. He currently works for the NYC Dept. of Health and is busy saving the city from swine flu. He and his wife Jenny live in the East Village. |
| Andy gets to combine his love for great music and his appreciation of beautiful spaces into a job, as a consultant in acoustics for Artec Consultants, designing performance spaces around the world. When not accumulating frequent flyer miles, he enjoys singing, waterskiing and being outdoors. Andy graduated from Wheaton College and is excited to be a part of the Gotham community this year. |
| Jay works for Merrill Lynch in an internal strategy role where he helps to lead the firm’s efforts to serve values-based and socially responsible clients. He enjoys listening to music by independent artists, cycling, and watching Top Chef. |
| Adrian is a transplanted Canuck, who made his home in NYC 6-years ago when he was attracted to the bright lights of Times Square. While he acknowledges that he has zero musical or acting ability, he does have a rich background in financial services. He worked in the audit and M&A advisory services of a global consulting firm for the previous 8 years. Adrian is excited to be challenged to growing his faith with other Fellows. In his free time, he enjoys eating and running (to eat more after). |
| Joshua, a Pennsylvania native and a Philadelphia University graduate, arrived in NYC in August 2005 beginning his present employment at STUDIOS Architecture. Eventually he became an active participant in the Redeemer community and enjoys being involved in Fellowship Groups and Children’s Ministry. Josh has high expectations for the Gotham Fellowship experience but hopes it will balance neatly with the college football season, fantasy football and his participation in a touch-football league. |
| Nick moved to NYC six years ago from South Jersey to study Film at Pratt Institute. He currently works as a freelance editor in New York City to pay the bills while he produces his own short films for competition nation wide. Nick is most excited to learn about the integration between faith and work during his time at Gotham, and he recently made the transition from “mildly entertaining” to “hilarious” after downloading an iPod application that creates jokes based on a self-selected categories! |
| Brendan moved to NYC in 2006 after growing up in New Hampshire and attending Middlebury College in Vermont, where he studied economics and political science. Brendan has a variety of interests, including reading history books, hiking, hanging out in the mountains, kayaking, sledding, skiing, traveling, eating with people, discussing food, eating sushi in Costa Rica, and grilling out with friends next to pools while tossing the football. For work, he invests in clean energy companies. |
| Sarah moved to NYC from Chicago in September 2008 for her first job after graduating with a Masters in Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago and getting her BA in Sociology and Communications from Wheaton College in 2006. Sarah is excited to finally be living in her favorite city in the world and looks forward to continue exploring how to live out her passion for examining various social issues and service within the city in the context of learning to love Jesus more. She currently works as a social policy research and data analyst on issues related to substance abuse and addiction. Her other interests and hobbies include being a HUGE Orlando Magic fan, eating spinach, and walking the Brooklyn Bridge. |
| Brian Watkins is a playwright and actor originally from Parker, Colorado. He and his wife, Kasey, moved to New York in January of '09 from Los Angeles, where they were both immersed in "The Industry". Brian has worked with theatres all throughout the country including Pasadena Playhouse and The Kennedy Center, among others. Brian is also a staff writer for the online magazine The Curator. |
| William was born and raised in New York and except for a short stint as a Michigan Wolverine, has spent most of his life here. He has a fairly extensive finance background but feels most passionate about his current role as a financial planner. It is a huge blessing for him to be a part of the Gotham Fellowship and he is looking forward to not only deepening his understanding of Christian theology but also and more importantly developing a more intimate relationship with Christ. He is excited to be a part of a program whose common goal is to carry out God’s good works and potentially transform culture. |
